WordPress users have a new alternative - Affiliate Genie. I'm using it for this site.

WordPress stripped of all its bells and whistles and laid out for affiliate marketing. More powerful for marketing. Less so for normal content.

Chris Rempel's software builds on his affiliate marketing philosophy:

- create product review sites

- use HTML, not WordPress

- capture visitors who are ready to buy, not tire-kickers

- use natural, organic SEO remove distractions

- drive visitors to the review pages

He does not rely on gimmicks, lists, PPC, or any latest fad or trick. The idea is that you don't want a ton of visitors to your website, just the ones with credit cards in hand. Let the other guys educate. You want to jump into the visitor's decision cycle when they are ready to buy.

For the next 112 days, I am going to put the Affiliate Genie's feet to the fire. I have bought Chris' earlier ebooks and had success when I put it into practice, and none when I sat on my ass.

This time I'm going to test it to the max to see if I can dump my day job by the end of March, 2010.

Basics for the test:

do exactly what the manual says
unique content - put my spinner away
create a minimum of 10 articles, pages, and reviews each day
make sure 5 of the above are reviews of affiliate products
create a results page each day to record success, failures, and bugs
no Google adsense or clones on this site
post the daily results page widely in social media, free blog hosts, and free webpages like squidoo and hubpages
within a week, add video to the daily results pages

I love my spinner. I can understand how CR hates automated content spinning, but mine is damn good using WP Spinner, a WordPress plugin. [NOTE: WP Spinner has been discontinued. Mine still works fine.]

If you don't use WordPress, you can try PHP Spinner. Works like WP Spinner but independent of the WP blogging platform.

Still, it's not fair to change his system before testing. I'm sure there are dozens of great tweaks to come out of this.
